At KOOS the materials we use for our furniture is of paramount importance. We never use any timber that is not FSC certified or materials that are not ethically sourced.
We love to use native timbers, and try and source these as close to our workshop in North Cornwall as possible. This enables us to control quality and we know the exact origin of the wood we use.
The provenance of products is very important to us. Working with independent Cornish businesses also allows us to support the local economy.
We have recently worked with the team at Pentillie Castle and Estate to obtain timber from their woodland; this family-run business is committed to the careful management of their beautiful 500 acres of woodlands on the banks of the river Tamar, St. Mellion, Cornwall.
We have sourced oak from their woodlands to create the beautiful bespoke ‘Gallery Bench’ which can be seen in the prestigious Jackson Foundation Gallery in St. Just Cornwall from March 2018.
